Job Description
Role Overview
The Sales Director, Malaysia is the founding commercial leader for Chasel's entry into
Malaysia, responsible for opening the market, building the local pipeline, and standing up
the local team. This is a hands-on, individually accountable role: you are expected to arrive
with an existing network of relationships in Facility Management and Real Estate Sectors
and convert that network into revenue from day one, not build one from a cold start.
You will lead new-business generation across the full Chasel portfolio, own the local
topline P&L, and represent Chasel within the industry and partner community in Malaysia.
The role reports to Singapore's Regional Sales Director, with local services delivery led
separately by the Services Manager once that team is onboard.
Responsibilities
1. Sales Management & Country P&L
• Work with colleagues and internal stakeholders to achieve and exceed monthly,
quarterly, and annual sales targets for Chasel Malaysia.
• Provide strategic direction to drive country-level commercial results.
• Own Chasel Malaysia topline P&L; report to the MD monthly on bookings, pipeline,
and gross margin.
• Approve local expenditure within delegated thresholds; escalate above-threshold
items to the MD.
2. Client Engagement & Industry Presence
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects in Malaysia.
• Understand client business needs, pain points, and objectives; position Chasel's
solutions as the right fit.
• Develop a qualified pipeline of new business across Facility Management and Real
Estate Sectors.
• Represent Chasel at industry events, conferences, and prospect engagements in
Malaysia, and maintain an active presence in at least one relevant industry
association or professional body.
3. Business Network & Partnerships
• Leverage an established personal network of relationships across Facility
Management and Real Estate Sectors in Malaysia to originate qualified pipeline
from the first quarter, not build one from scratch.
• Identify, cultivate, and formalise new channel, reseller, and technology-alliance
partnerships to expand Chasel's reach in Malaysia.
• Represent Chasel within relevant industry associations, chambers of commerce,
and professional networks; hold or pursue an active role (member, speaker, or
panellist) in at least one recognised industry body within the first year.
• Track and report, alongside standard pipeline metrics, the share of qualified
pipeline sourced through personal network and partner referrals.
• Develop the local partnership/reseller model in alignment with group agreements,
including inter-entity revenue-sharing arrangements.
4. Forecasting & Reporting
• Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports to the MD.
• Maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline in the Chasel CRM — minimum 3× quarterly
target coverage.
• Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with marketing, the Product Owner, and the implementation/services
team to align strategy and ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Communicate customer feedback and local market signal back to the Product
Owner and Regional Sales & Marketing Director.
• Co-ordinate with the Regional Sales & Marketing Director on commercial standards,
pricing governance, and proposal quality.
6. Sales Process Optimisation
• Continuously refine and optimise the local sales process, from lead generation and
qualification to closing.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Use the Group CRM and pipeline conventions; share opportunities with other
regional entities where collaboration is required.
7. Market Insights
• Gather insights from the local market and clients to inform product development
and innovation.
• Contribute to the refinement of Chasel's offerings based on customer feedback.
8. Team Building & Leadership
• Support recruitment of the local services/consultant team per the country hiring
plan, in conjunction with the Services Manager.
• Manage local employment, employee experience, and office set-up under Malaysia
labour and statutory requirements.
• Coach the local team on Chasel's commercial standards, delivery methodology,
and product positioning.
