As we continue to expand our footprint across Malaysia and the region, we are seeking a Sales Engineer who can blend technical expertise with business development capabilities to drive growth and deliver impactful energy solutions.
Role Summary
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying new clients, understanding their operational and energy challenges, and proposing tailored solutions involving Is Ikhlas Suci's EMS, BMS integration, and chiller optimization technologies. This role requires a proactive individual who can bridge the gap between engineering innovation and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify, approach, and qualify potential clients across key sectors such as commercial buildings, hospitals, shopping malls, and industrial facilities.
- Develop a strong sales pipeline through direct outreach, industry networking, and participation in sustainability and facilities management events.
- Conduct client needs assessments to align proposed solutions with their energy-saving objectives and ESG commitments.
- Prepare and present proposals for zero-capex and shared-savings models (ESCO structures).
2. Technical Sales & Solution Design
- Collaborate with the engineering and data analytics teams to design customized energy optimization and monitoring solutions.
- Conduct site visits, energy audits, and preliminary load assessments to identify potential savings opportunities.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs to clients and consultants.
- Prepare commercial quotations, technical submissions, and tender documentation.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact throughout the sales and implementation cycle.
- Maintain strong client relationships post-installation to identify expansion or upgrade opportunities.
- Gather feedback and share insights with the product development team to refine solution offerings.
4. Market Insights & Collaboration
- Stay current on market trends, government incentives (e.g., EECA, MyHIJAU, SEDA programs), and competitor solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing and project teams to develop case studies and technical collateral.
- Provide management with regular reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and market insights.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Energy Engineering.
- Experience: 25 years of experience in sales engineering, energy solutions, or HVAC optimization.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of chiller systems, HVAC optimization, and BMS/EMS platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/IoT applications in energy management.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
- Sales experience is highly recommended for this role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Attributes: Proactive, target-oriented, and technically curious.
- Comfortable engaging with both engineering teams and C-suite decision-makers.
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, mechanical drawings, and energy audit data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within an ESCO, facility management, or energy optimization company.
- Knowledge of IoT sensors, AI-based energy analytics, and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with SIRIM, MyHIJAU, or Green Building Index (GBI) frameworks.
- Professional certifications in energy management or sales (REEM, CEM, REM, etc.) are advantageous.
