Founded in 2018, Lapasar began as a B2B procurement platform serving corporate clients across Malaysia. Today, major organizations such as Telekom Malaysia, PETRONAS, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad utilize the platform to manage their operational purchasing needs through a more efficient digital procurement workflow.

In 2020, Lapasar expanded its platform to support small and medium-sized businesses, allowing them to procure their operational supplies through a simple mobile application. This initiative supports businesses by making their purchasing process faster, easier, and more accessible.

Today, Lapasar is focused on building one of the largest assortments of products and solutions for businesses in Malaysia, positioning the platform as a one-stop procurement destination for companies operational needs. Our goal is to provide organizations with a centralized platform where they can efficiently source what they require while we continuously focus on delivering competitive cost and speed to all of our clients.

Position Summary

The role is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers, reactivating dormant accounts, and managing existing business clients. The individual will actively identify and pursue sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, quotation preparation, follow-ups, negotiations, and close coordination with internal teams to secure orders and grow revenue.

The role operates in a dynamic and evolving commercial environment and will support the development and expansion of new business initiatives. The employee is expected to demonstrate flexibility in engaging different customer segments, promoting the company's offerings, and supporting commercial initiatives, pilot programs, or business experiments designed to drive growth and market expansion.

Key responsibilities include building strong customer relationships, understanding customer purchasing behaviour and operational needs, and consistently working towards achieving assigned sales targets and performance metrics. The individual is expected to proactively identify opportunities for revenue generation, contribute to the development of new commercial approaches, and support the company's broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, develop, and acquire new business opportunities across corporate, industrial, commercial, and other relevant customer segments.
  • Reactivate dormant or inactive accounts and expand engagement with existing customers to drive revenue growth.
  • Proactively promote and sell the company's products, solutions, and services in accordance with current business priorities.
  • Generate sales through active prospecting, relationship building, and ongoing engagement with customers to understand their operational needs.
  • Prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, and coordinate with internal teams to secure and fulfil customer orders.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and performance metrics as determined by the company from time to time.
  • Support business development initiatives, pilot programs, and commercial activities aimed at expanding the company's market presence.
  • Participate in customer engagement activities such as on-site sales events, product showcases, or temporary on-site assignments at customer premises when required. This may include being stationed at client locations for short periods of time in support of business development or sales initiatives, based on business needs.

Customer & Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships via calls, WhatsApp, email, and site visits
  • Understand customer usage patterns and reorder cycles
  • Handle enquiries, prepare quotations, and follow up until order closure
  • Support repeat orders and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

Sales Execution & Operations

  • Conduct daily outbound calls and follow-ups.
  • Prepare quotations and basic pricing proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on order processing and delivery.
  • Maintain basic sales records and submit daily activity reports.

Product & Market Knowledge

  • Learn assigned product categories and suitable alternatives (training provided)
  • Understand basic product applications and usage
  • Gather market intelligence on pricing, competitors, and customer demand
  • Escalate technical enquiries to suppliers or Sales Engineers when required

Key Performance Indicators (KPI'S)

  • Sales revenue achieved
  • Number of active industrial customers
  • Number of quotations issued
  • Quote-to-order conversion rate
  • Daily sales activity (calls and follow-ups)

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM / Diploma (engineering background is an added advantage)
  • 13 years of experience in industrial, hardware, MRO, or B2B sales preferred
  • Comfortable with phone sales and consistent customer follow-ups
  • Basic computer skills (WhatsApp, Excel, email)
  • Willingness to learn industrial products and applications
  • Able and willing to travel for site visits
