Roles

This role is responsible for leading the OTC Pharmacy Channel, managing key accounts, and driving sales, distribution and in-store execution. The position oversees a pharmacy sales team and ensures strong commercial performance through effective planning, execution and customer partnership.

Responsibilities

1) Channel Development & Growth

  • Develop and execute the pharmacy channel strategy to achieve sales, distribution, and visibility objectives.
  • Drive distribution expansion across independent pharmacies and regional chains.
  • Lead new account development, including listings, trade terms, and commercial negotiations.

2) Account Management

  • Manage relationships with major pharmacy accounts, ensuring strong business planning and consistent performance.
  • Conduct regular business reviews focusing on sales growth, distribution, and trade activities.
  • Ensure effective execution of trade programs within approved budgets.

3) Field Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the pharmacy sales team to achieve coverage, distribution, and sales KPIs.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor performance, provide coaching, and reinforce execution standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of field activities.

4) In-Store Execution Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with planograms, availability standards, and merchandising guidelines.
  • Drive effective deployment of POSM and promotional materials.
  • Monitor competitive activity at store level and recommend actions to strengthen brand performance.

5) Sales Planning & Reporting

  • Develop monthly sales forecasts and operational plans by account and territory.
  • Analyses sales trends, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide insights on market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activities.

6) Cross Collaboration & Governance

  • With Marketing, Medical, Supply, and Finance to ensure effective execution withing approved budgets and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, approvals, and reporting in line with audit and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Marketing or Business
  • 57 years experience in OTC/Consumer Healthcare or FMCG with pharmacy channel exposure.
  • Proven track record in pharmacy channel sales and distribution.
  • Strong expertise in key account management.
  • Skilled in trade negotiations and promotional planning.
  • Experience managing and leading field sales teams.
  • Ability to drive in-store execution and merchandising excellence.
  • Hands-on, execution-focused leader with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate independently and deliver results.
