SAP Business / Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Mapping & Lineage Analyst who can analyze data, understand how it moves between systems, and document how it is transformed.

The candidate will work closely with business, engineering, and testing teams to ensure data is correctly mapped from source SAP systems to the target reporting system.

Strong SQL, data analysis, and documentation skills are more important than deep SAP BW experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis: Analyze data from different sources, identify data quality issues, and understand business rules.
• Source-to-Target Mapping: Prepare documents explaining how data fields from source systems are mapped and transformed into target systems.
• Data Lineage: Document the complete flow of data from SAP source systems to reporting systems.
• SQL & Data Validation: Use SQL to analyze data, validate mappings, and identify inconsistencies.
• Business Collaboration: Work with client teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand and confirm business requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain mapping documents, data definitions, transformation rules, and lineage records.
• Testing Support: Help testing teams create test scenarios to verify data accuracy and quality.
• Issue Resolution: Identify missing or unclear business rules and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve them.

Must-Have Skills

1. SQL – Strong SQL querying and data analysis skills.
2. Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) – Experience documenting field-level data mappings and transformation rules.
3. Data Lineage – Understanding of how data flows between different systems.
4. Data Profiling & Data Quality – Ability to analyze datasets and identify data issues.
5. Data Documentation – Experience preparing mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and business rules.
6. Stakeholder Communication – Ability to gather requirements and work with business and technical teams.
