Job Title: SAP Basis & Security Lead

Location: Onsite Shah Alam, Malaysia

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Extendable)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis & Security Lead for a 12-month onsite contract in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role requires strong technical expertise in SAP system administration and security governance, along with leadership capability to manage Basis and Security operations across SAP landscapes (ECC and/or S/4HANA).

The ideal candidate will lead system stability, security compliance, and technical governance while coordinating with functional teams, infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Basis Leadership

Lead SAP Basis administration across DEV, QA, and PROD environments

Oversee SAP installations, upgrades, patching, and kernel updates

Manage system refreshes, client copies, and transport landscape

Monitor system performance and ensure high availability

Coordinate SAP upgrades, migrations, and HANA database activities

Liaise with infrastructure/cloud teams (if hosted on AWS/Azure/GCP)

SAP Security Governance

Lead SAP role design and authorization strategy

Ensure Segregation of Duties (SoD) compliance

Oversee user access management and periodic access reviews

Support audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards

Work with SAP GRC (Access Control) if applicable

Leadership & Governance

Lead and mentor Basis & Security team members

Conduct technical reviews and enforce best practices

Act as the primary point of contact for SAP technical operations

Manage incident resolution and root cause analysis

Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of SAP Basis experience

3+ years in a Lead or Senior role

Strong experience in SAP Security & Authorizations

Experience supporting SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA landscapes

Hands-on experience with system upgrades, migrations, and HANA DB

Experience in transport management and performance tuning

Exposure to SAP GRC (Access Control) preferred

Strong stakeholder communication skills
