Job Purpose:

To oversee and monitor defaulted financing portfolios through proactive account management, recovery initiatives, and rehabilitation strategies, ensuring the preservation of asset quality and minimizing adverse financial impact on MDV. The role also involves driving recovery efforts, managing portfolio risks, and maximizing recovery outcomes in accordance with the Company's policies and objectives.

Job Description:

1. Portfolio Recovery, Restructuring and Rehabilitation

Negotiate payment settlements and repayment arrangements for Non-Performing Loans/Financing (NPL/NPF) accounts, and develop appropriate restructuring or rehabilitation strategies to prevent or minimize potential losses to MDV while achieving the Department's recovery and financial targets.

2. Management of Distressed Accounts and Assets

Liaise and collaborate with relevant consultants, including Receivers and Managers, and other professional advisors, in managing the assets and affairs of NPL/NPF customers. Safeguard MDV's interests as a debenture holder by facilitating and implementing viable turnaround and recovery plans, which may include asset disposal and realization strategies where appropriate.

3. Legal Recovery and Enforcement

Oversee and manage legal recovery and enforcement proceedings as an alternative recovery avenue when negotiations with NPL/NPF customers are unsuccessful. Work closely with legal counsel and relevant stakeholders to maximize recovery from borrowers, guarantors, and security parties while protecting MDV's rights and interests.

Requirements:

a. Possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in any field, or any other equivalent credential.

b. Minimum 8 years experience in Corporate Recovery.

c. Possession of Professional certifications such as Certified Credit Professional (CCP) or other relevant qualifications in banking, finance, or credit management is an added advantage.

d. Required Knowledge: Knowledge and experience in credit assessment, loan workout and recovery management for distressed and insolvent portfolios, including legal recovery actions and debt rehabilitation strategies.

e. Required Skills:

  • Strong credit knowledge and experience in loan rehabilitation/workout, including rescheduling and restructuring, with a good understanding of workflow processes related to CGC-guaranteed financing.
  • Strong credit assessment and financial & risk analysis.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Copilot, and other relevant Microsoft applications.
