Job Purpose:
Lead and drive the effective management of MDV's financial risksincluding credit, market, and liquidity risksthrough robust frameworks, processes, and close collaboration with risk control functions and business units across the organisation. Champion strong credit evaluation practices to ensure alignment with MDV's risk appetite, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, thereby safeguarding asset quality, maximising returns, and supporting sustainable long-term business performance. Deliver high-quality risk analytics, profiling, monitoring, and reporting to enable risk-informed decision-making at all levels.
Job Description:
- Provide strategic leadership in managing MDV's financial risk exposures, continuously enhancing frameworks for credit, market, and liquidity risk in line with the organisation's overall risk appetite.
- Spearhead credit risk evaluations for proposals submitted by the Business Division prior to review by the relevant approving authority.
- Identify and filter out undesirable or high-risk credit exposures, ensuring prudent portfolio management.
- Deliver clear recommendations and propose mitigations to address or resolve credit concerns.
- Lead and drive the team to maintain an up-to-date and effective risk management framework, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Oversee the overall financial risks related activities to ensure practices are in adherence to the established policies and procedures.
- Monitor liquidity positions and ensure optimal funding structures to support financial stability and business continuity.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on financial risk exposures and their impact on MDV's financial position to Senior Management and the Board.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA-CAANZ, CPA).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in credit analysis, evaluation, and financing portfolio management within a financial institution or related regulatory environment.
- Strong expertise in credit risk assessment, portfolio analysis, and financial risk management practices.
- In-depth knowledge of business financing operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
