Science Tutor

Role Description The Science Tutor is responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned online lessons to students in IGCSE, IB, KSSM, and GCE programs. In this part-time, remote role, the tutor will plan and conduct live tutoring sessions, explain complex scientific concepts in clear, age-appropriate language, and provide practice questions, feedback, and exam preparation support. Daily tasks include assessing student understanding, tailoring lesson plans to individual needs, tracking progress, and communicating with learners and guardians as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of science subjects (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology) aligned with IGCSE, IB, KSSM, and/or GCE curricula.
• Demonstrated skills in lesson planning, explaining concepts clearly, and adapting teaching methods to different learning styles.
• Ability to use online teaching tools and platforms effectively, including video conferencing and digital resources.
• Excellent communication skills, patience, and a supportive, student-centered approach to teaching.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a science-related field or education, or equivalent teaching experience.
• Prior online tutoring or classroom teaching experience is highly beneficial.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable environment for conducting remote lessons.
• Strong fluency in Mandarin / Chinese (highly preferred)
