We are seeking a Senior Accounts Executive to oversee and manage General Ledger (GL) functions for Club 21 Malaysia. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all GL related matters, while providing guidance to junior team members and supporting the finance team in maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare full set of accounts, including monthly closing, journal posting, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports, financial reports and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, internal controls including documentation and process improvements.
- Monitor and review accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to ensure timely collection and payments.
- Manage and prepare monthly intercompany billings and reconciliations across local and regional entities, ensuring accuracy of transactions and timely resolution of variances.
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register, including preparation of schedules, processing of disposals and write-offs, posting of invoices and recorded related journal entries in compliance with accounting standards.
- Handling tax related payments, including tax instalment payments, withholding tax payments (WHT) and SST fillings and payments, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with regulatory requirement.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including tracking actual performance against budget.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other external parties during audits, tax fillings, and statutory compliance matters.
- Participate in system improvements, automation initiatives, and process streamlining to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in ad hoc finance projects and assignment as required by the management.
Key Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant with minimum 3 years experience in GL, preferably in retail environment
- A team player who is a fast learner, independent, and highly adaptable to fast changing environments
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting
- Good computer skills in MS Excel and Office 365
- Experience in using M3 is an added advantage.
