The Role

This role is with one of our portfolio companies, Engel's Sense, a Singapore-based business founded in 2009 that specialises in premium ambient scenting and fragrance solutions. Engel's Sense has an established presence in B2B scenting services, providing customised fragrances and professional scenting systems to hotels, retail malls, corporate offices, healthcare institutions, and other commercial environments.

The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is for the Malaysian subsidiary of Engel's Sense.

Job Description

1. Finance & Accounting:

  • Assist with AR, AP, and GL daily accounting tasks for all entities within the Group.
  • Handle GL tasks such as cashbook entries (payments, receipts, contra), journal entries, and inter-company/group reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of accurate financial records for audit, tax, and e-invoicing compliance at both entity and group levels.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in month-end closing, quarterly reporting, and maintaining proper documentation.

2. Stock Management:

  • Reconcile and finalize stock records regularly.
  • Update stock records accurately in the system or tracking sheets.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure proper stock usage, replenishment, and documentation.

3. SOP & Reporting Support:

  • Assist the Finance Manager in standardizing and executing Finance & Accounting SOPs across the Group.
  • Maintain and update key sales-related reports, including servicing schedules, contracts, and renewals.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting to support operational and management decisions.

4. Other Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Finance Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of the finance team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned as assigned by superior.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years relevant experience in audit, finance & accounting role (Preferably in Group company environment /full set account).
  • Basic accounting knowledge including double entries and bookkeeping principles is a MUST.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SQL, Xero, Bukku is preferred) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills.

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: Mondays to Fridays, 9am-6pm (Hybrid Arrangement)
  • Office / Warehouse location: Kuala Lumpur / Selangor
  • Salary range: RM3,000 - RM4,500 (Depending on last drawn salary, skills, and relevant experience)
