Job Summary:
Responsible for handling the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial management of the organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and properly maintained
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including handling month-end and year-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Handle end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, including processing invoices, payments, staff claims, and monitoring collections to ensure healthy cash flow
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs and highlighting any financial risks or concerns
- Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and variance reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings (e.g., SST), and liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation, ensuring compliance with controls, and overall audit readiness.
- Respond to audit queries promptly and accurately, providing complete information and liaising with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes to enhance efficiency and data integrity
- Assist in payroll processing and statutory contributions where required
- Perform ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
