Position Summary

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in our finance department, managing complex financial operations across multiple international entities. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, a strong understanding of international tax compliance particularly for the Taiwan market and the ability to oversee full-cycle accounting processes in a fast-paced marketplace environment

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Oversight & Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of accounting records to ensure all financial reporting meets strict internal and external timelines
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accruals, adjustments, and complex journal entries
• Maintain high-level financial data integrity by classifying and recording transactions across various categories and currencies

Taxation, VAT & Regulatory Compliance:

• Lead the preparation and review of Taiwan VAT reporting, serving as the primary point of contact for Taiwan tax agents regarding refunds and related tax matters
• Provide comprehensive oversight of tax-related matters across all global entities, ensuring total compliance with diverse applicable tax requirements
• Direct the recording and management of fixed assets, ensuring proper documentation and accounting standards are met

Financial Operations & Transaction Management:

• Manage and verify global payout transactions to ensure accuracy, while actively monitoring and resolving failed, rejected, or unclaimed funds
• Supervise the maintenance of supplier invoices and payments using SQL Accounting software
• Perform rigorous monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, payment gateways, and other financial statements, leading investigations into any discrepancies
• Oversee internal financial operations, including the maintenance of payroll reports, staff claims, and petty cash systems

Audit, Liaison & Collaboration:

• Act as the key liaison between the company and external auditors and tax agents to facilitate smooth financial audits and tax filings
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to provide financial insights and support on accounting-related matters

Core Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2 - 4 years experience
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL Accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including advanced financial formulas and spreadsheets)
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Due to the requirement to liaise with Taiwan tax agents and communities, fluency in spoken Mandarin is highly preferred
• Experience: Proven experience in handling full-cycle accounting, tax compliance, and financial reconciliations; experience in a global marketplace or tech environment is an advantage
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail to identify numerical errors, and a strong sense of responsibility
