Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager to support our finance operations, with a strong focus on group consolidation. This role will play a key part in supporting Riverchain's regional expansion and strengthening group-level financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong background in accounting in the financial services industry. This hands-on role is suited for candidates comfortable operating across both strategic and operational finance in a fast-growing fintech.
Reports to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on a standalone and consolidated basis for group entities.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Support external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
Bookkeeping & Reconciliation:
- Oversee and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Perform bank account and intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure all entries are posted accurately and in a timely manner.
Payment Operations:
- Manage and oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper approvals.
- Handle payment preparations and processing, including payment schedules, supporting documents, and internal approvals.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Implement controls to manage costs and reduce overruns.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and workflows
- Implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy in operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) required.
- Proven 3+ years of work experience as a senior accountant/assistant finance manager in the financial services industry, in banks or firms engaged in direct lending. Exposure to trade finance, supply chain finance, construction finance, or related sectors is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or equivalent).
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and group consolidation is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese (preferably Cantonese) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
