Senior Accountant

Permanent position

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing advanced accounting tasks with minimal supervision, leveraging a solid understanding of company systems, processes, and internal controls. This role involves preparing and analyzing complex financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards, and supporting cross-functional operations across Malaysia and the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including preparing and posting complex journal entries and reconciling financial statements.
• Review and monitor financial transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with internal controls and company policies.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis and distribution of financial results.
• Resolve intricate accounting issues and contribute to continuous improvement of processes.
• Collaborate with payroll, accounts payable, tax, and other hub functions to ensure cohesive financial operations.
• Participate in cross-functional projects, demonstrating effective project management and communication skills.
• Support compliance with US GAAP or relevant local accounting standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA / MIA /SPA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational awareness and understanding of the business structure and industry context.
• Familiarity with SAP, Hyperion, or Oracle is an advantage.
