Job Description

Senior Accounting Executive

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accounting Executive to support our finance operations for the Singapore market. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient accounting operations.

You will work closely with regional commercial, marketing, and supply chain teams, supporting business growth while ensuring compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and internal financial policies.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced regional environment, enjoys working with cross-border stakeholders, and has strong technical accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management and financial transactions.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and management reporting packs.
  • Assist in regional financial consolidation and reporting processes.
  • Ensure financial statements comply with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and internal policies.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Oversee the full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
  • Ensure timely invoice processing, payment execution, and collection activities.
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.

Taxation & GST Compliance

  • Prepare and submit GST returns in accordance with Singapore regulatory requirements.
  • Support annual tax filings and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and external tax advisors when necessary.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support annual external audit processes, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support ERP enhancements and finance system improvements (SAP experience is an advantage).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
  • Perform other ad-hoc finance duties as assigned.

  • Supply Chain Team (Malaysia)
  • SCSEA BU & Business Development Teams
  • Breweries Accounts Payable Department

External

  • Distributors
  • Trade Operators
  • Retailers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Professional accounting certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably handling full sets of accounts or audit
  • Experience managing Singapore financial accounts is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); SAP experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with regional stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
