Get to know the Role:

We are seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to manage full set accounting, month-end closing, and reconciliation of fiat and digital asset balances within a regulated digital asset exchange environment.

The role also supports audit, regulatory compliance, tax, and e-invoicing requirements, ensuring financial records are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready in line with RMO and MFRS standards.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining efficient and well-controlled financial operations.

The day-to-day activities:

1. Full Set Accounting & Financial Closing

• Handle full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet schedules.
• Prepare supporting schedules for management accounts and financial reporting.

2. Reconciliation (Fiat & Digital Assets)

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of:
• Bank accounts vs internal ledger
• Digital asset wallets (hot/cold) vs system records
• Assist in reconciling customer balances, trading activities, and transaction flows.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain proper audit trails and reconciliation documentation.

3. Digital Asset Accounting Support

• Record and track crypto-related transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, trading fees, and internal transfers.
• Support valuation and reporting of digital asset holdings.
• Ensure consistency between blockchain data, custody platforms, and accounting records.

4. E-Invoicing (Malaysia – LHDN MyInvois)

• Support ongoing compliance with Malaysia e-Invoicing requirements (LHDN MyInvois system).
• Prepare, validate, and submit e-invoices and self-billed invoices in accordance with regulatory timelines.
• Ensure accuracy of invoice data, including customer details, tax treatment, and transaction classification.
• Perform reconciliation between issued e-invoices and accounting records.
• Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to ensure proper system integration and data flow.
• Maintain documentation and audit trail for e-invoice submissions and validations.

5. Audit & Compliance Support

• Assist in preparing audit schedules and supporting documents for external audits.
• Ensure all accounting records and reconciliations are audit-ready at all times.
• Support compliance with RMO requirements, internal SOPs, and MFRS standards.
• Maintain proper documentation for regulatory and audit reviews.

The Must-Have:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in fintech, financial services, brokerage, or other high-transaction environments is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial analysis, reconciliation).
• Basic understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), particularly relating to financial instruments.
• Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain transactions, or fintech operations is an added advantage.
