What You Will Do:
- Handling full-cycle AP processing, including invoice validation, posting, approval workflow, and payment execution.
- Review and verify supporting documents to ensure accuracy, adherence to internal controls and approval matrix, and Malaysian tax regulations (e.g., SST, withholding tax).
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to verify cost allocation, resolve discrepancies, and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.
- Prepare AP-related reports such as aging reports, cash flow projections, and expense trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, such as Income Tax Act, Customs Act, and related statutory requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Maintain proper document filing (physical and electronic) for audit readiness and compliance.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in the AP process for efficiency and control as well as implementation or upgrade of accounting systems and automation tools, where relevant.
What We Look For:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. LCCI, MICPA, ACCA (partial or full), or MIA membership is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in an accounts payable role, preferably in a medium to large-sized organization. Analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills would be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in managing high transaction volumes and ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of Malaysian accounting standards, SST, and withholding tax practices.
- Strong ERP/accounting system skills (e.g., SAP, Oracle, AutoCount, or equivalent), and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
