Job Title: Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Type: Permanent, full-time
About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist (Allocations) to join our Finance Business Services team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a key role within the OTC function, ensuring customer cash is allocated accurately and on time, protecting revenue, cash flow and ledger integrity.
You'll act as a go-to expert for complex allocations, working closely with Credit, Billing and Finance teams to resolve issues quickly, reduce unallocated cash and support strong DSO and working capital performance. If you thrive in a fast-paced shared services environment and enjoy improving processes, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately allocate and apply customer receipts in line with SLAs and cut-offs
- Investigate and resolve unallocated cash and allocation blockers
- Apply credit notes and process approved write-offs with clear audit trail
- Support bank and clearing account reconciliations
- Partner with Credit & Collections to accelerate cash application
- Maintain trackers and provide insight on aged or unapplied items
- Act as an SME for complex allocations and support team capability
- Drive automation, standardisation and continuous process improvement.
To Be Successful In The Role, You Will Have
- Strong experience in AR allocations and cash application
- Experience in a shared services or corporate finance environment
- Leadership capability and confidence to act as a subject matter expert
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation and efficiency
- SAP (or similar ERP) experience and solid Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and communicate confidently in Business English
