Job Description
This senior engineering role is responsible for designing and developing AI Agents for the BrandCo AA entity with potential development for licensed customers on an as needed basis. For example, you may be involved in a POC (proof of concept) for an agent or be working on a full 0-1 project that consists of multiple agents and integrations with MCP servers powered by business workflow triggers.
While the role involves heavy usage of Generative AI (GenAI) applications and solutions, candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience and be able to demonstrate proficiency in traditional Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL CHAMPION:
Build and deploy production-grade AI solutions across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from concept to multi-agent systems.
Lead technical design and architecture reviews, setting the standard for engineering excellence on the team.
Architect complex Agent-to-Agent (A2A) and Agent-to-Payment (A2P) workflows.
Drive retrieval accuracy for our AI agents by refining data ingestion strategies in Vertex AI, using techniques like layout-aware chunking and metadata enrichment.
Evaluate and integrate impactful open-source technologies (e.g., N8N) to accelerate development and expand our AI platform's capabilities.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of your services-including instrumentation, monitoring, and operational support-to ensure high performance and availability.
Mentor other teams and share your expertise in backend engineering and AI implementation to accelerate their development.
WHO YOU ARE:
Experience: 6-9 years of professional software development, with a track record of shipping and maintaining production-level code. This is a senior individual contributor role.
Backend & SDLC: Expert proficiency in Python and hands-on experience across the entire SDLC, including building and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
Cloud Proficiency: Deep expertise in designing, deploying, and managing production workloads on GCP, particularly with services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, and BigQuery.
AI Data Foundations: Proven experience transforming unstructured data for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and other AI applications.
Security Mindset: Practical experience implementing security best practices (e.g., ACLs, IAM, data encryption) in cloud-native applications.
AI & ML Tooling: Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies (e.g., Google Vertex AI), vector databases, and frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
Critical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business needs into robust and scalable technical solutions.
