JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR ANALYST – SOFTWARE SOURCING

Job Title: Senior Analyst, Software Sourcing

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week in-office)

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst – Software Sourcing executes software sourcing events, contract

negotiations, and spend analytics within News Corp's Global Sourcing organization. Working

closely with Category Leaders, Business Sourcing Partners, and cross-functional teams, this

role is responsible for driving efficiency, speed, and cost optimization across software and cloud

procurement activities globally.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Sourcing & Category Execution
• Execute end-to-end RFx activities (RFP, RFQ, RFI) for software, SaaS, and cloud
  
  

renewals/new purchases in alignment with global category strategies.

• Lead commercial negotiations and bid evaluations leveraging spend benchmarking,
  
  

market intelligence, and cost-modeling tools.

• Identify demand management and software license rationalization opportunities to drive
  
  

hard cost savings and waste elimination.

• Contracting & Risk Management
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements leveraging standard templates (SaaS,
  
  

PaaS, MSAs, SOWs, License Agreements, Amendments).

• Partner directly with global legal, data privacy, and security teams to ensure compliance
  
  

with DPAs, security baselines, and corporate governance standards.

• Manage workflow escalations, maintain contract audit trails, and ensure accurate
  
  

record-keeping in central repositories.

• Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
• Build strong working relationships with internal IT leaders, procurement operations, and
  
  

business unit stakeholders.

• Assist in business unit capacity planning, forecasting software demand, and translating
  
  

functional needs into crisp sourcing requirements.

• Monitor key supplier performance metrics, track deliverables, and support vendor
  
  

quarterlies.

Candidate Qualifications & Critical Competencies

• Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of experience in IT procurement and software
  
  

sourcing, with hands-on exposure to software licensing models, SaaS, and cloud

contracts.

• Ownership: Own the end to end sourcing process from requirements gathering to
  
  

contracting for the category

• Global Exposure: Minimum 3–4 years operating within a global, centralized, or
  
  

matrixed procurement team.

• Contractual Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of commercial agreement
  
  

structures, key legal terms (indemnification, IP, termination), and Data Protection

Agreements (DPAs).

• Analytical Capability: Advanced proficiency in spend analysis, financial modeling, and
  
  

data-driven decision-making.

• Project Management: Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to
  
  

manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects to completion on tight schedules.

• Communication: Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills with experience
  
  

facilitating cross-functional alignment.

• Education & Certifications:
  
  

○ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT/Engineering, or Business discipline.

MBA in Operations, IT, or Supply Chain is a plus.

○ PMP, CPSM, or CSCP certifications preferred.
