Job Summary
To support BPMB Group's sustainable, climate and transition financing agenda by providing technical advisory, ESG assessment, and customer transition support, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, Group sustainability frameworks, and national development objectives.
Job Description
- Support departmental budget planning, including annual workplan costing and resource allocation for sustainability and technical advisory activities.
- Monitor utilisation of approved departmental and project budgets to ensure spending remains within approved limits.
- Prepare, submit and track claims, invoices and payment requests in compliance with BPMB financial policies and procedures.
- Support cost control measures and prudent spending practices across sustainability initiatives and advisory work.
- Assist in financial tracking and periodic reporting for sustainability-related projects to support management review and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external stakeholder engagements related to sustainability, ESG, climate and transition-related matters.
- Provide technical input and analysis to support sustainability advisory discussions and engagements with customers and partners.
- Assist in responding to sustainability-related queries from customers, investors and stakeholders.
- Support coordination of sustainability engagements to ensure alignment with Group frameworks and messaging.
- Contribute to building long-term stakeholder relationships that support BPMB Group's sustainability objectives.
- Conduct ESG, climate and transition-related assessments in line with Group sustainability frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of sustainability tools, templates and internal guidance documents.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to embed sustainability considerations into business processes and decision-making.
- Support preparation of internal papers, technical notes and management updates related to sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping to support governance, compliance and audit readiness.
- Undertake additional tasks, projects or responsibilities as assigned by Management or supervisors from time to time to support departmental and organisational priorities, in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and legal requirements.
- Continuously build technical knowledge in sustainability, ESG, climate risk and transition finance.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry standards and best practices relevant to sustainable finance.
- Participate in internal training, knowledge-sharing sessions and capability-building initiatives.
- Support mentoring and guidance of junior team members where applicable.
- Contribute to strengthening overall sustainability capability within the department and across the Group.
- Support tactical or strategic initiatives as directed by Management or supervisors, including responsibilities not explicitly outlined above, subject to applicable governance and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, and/or demonstrated depth of applied experience that is equivalent in scope and complexity.
This May Include
- Advanced academic qualifications (Master's or PhD) with strong applied or research components
- Substantial involvement in sustainability, ESG, climate, development or policy-related projects
- Consulting-style project work, technical studies or structured programmes involving analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Prior experience working with public sector entities, GLCs, development agencies, international organisations or similar institutions.
- Candidates with limited formal working experience may be considered where depth, complexity and relevance of applied exposure demonstrate readiness to operate at a Senior Associate level.
- Strong understanding of ESG, climate and transition finance concepts.
- Familiarity with BNM policies, CCPT/CRMSA, sustainability reporting and assessment frameworks.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
