Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure investments Then Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is the perfect place for you. We are currently looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Associate to join our GMF Investment team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The team
Joining the GMF investment team, you will contribute to the development, structuring and execution of investments in greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects in the fast-growing economies across Asia and Latin America as well as certain countries in Eastern Europe and Africa where Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners see scale, growth, and liquidity. You will work closely together with a highly experienced team in a high-pace dynamic and truly global environment.

The role
This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, where you will join the investment team to contribute to project and deal origination, focusing on specific investment opportunities pursued by GMF in Southeast Asia. It offers a chance to gain a comprehensive understanding of fund manager operations and exposure to the entire lifecycle of greenfield renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Manage work-streams involved in investment due diligence, project development & financing, and divestment processes.
  • Support negotiation of agreements and contracts.
  • Develop and manage financial models, reviewing economic and financial assumptions.
  • Conduct research on counterparties, markets, and assets.
  • Collaborate with and manage external advisors and partners, including legal, financial, and technical experts, to execute investments.
  • Develop analysis and high-quality presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor analysts and ensure the quality of their deliverables.

The work is project-driven and encompasses all aspects of the infrastructure investment process, including sourcing and acquisition, financing, and exits.

You
We are looking for driven and collaborative individual holding a relevant degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields and 3-6 years of work experience in a similar role. The work environment at CIP is fast-paced, stimulating, global, and demanding. Therefore, we are looking for a self-driven, collaborative, and analytical professional with a relevant master's degree.

Key qualifications include:

  • Team player with the confidence to exercise judgement appropriately, engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid corporate finance knowledge, particularly in valuation and financial modelling.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and take on responsibility.
  • Extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with energy and infrastructure is a plus, but not required.
  • Self-starter attitude with tenacity, initiative, and commitment to deliver results.
  • Proficiency in at least one Southeast Asian language.
