What your typical day will look like:

As a Senior BM Copywriter, you will shape and elevate the brand's voice across every touchpoint, turning insights and business challenges into compelling creative ideas and powerful storytelling.

Your day-to-day involves developing distinctive copy and creative concepts across campaigns, social, digital, film, activations, and beyond. You'll work closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors, strategists, and wider creative teams to develop ideas that are culturally relevant, strategically sound, and capable of delivering meaningful impact for our clients.

You'll also play a key role in raising the creative standard of the team — challenging briefs, championing strong ideas, mentoring junior creatives, and ensuring work is consistently brought to life with craft, clarity, and purpose.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Develops and leads compelling creative concepts and narratives from initial brief through to execution, crafting headlines, scripts, campaign platforms, storyboards, social content, and on-brand messaging that connect with target audiences and deliver against business objectives.
  • Creates high-quality Bahasa Malaysia copy across different formats and channels, ensuring language is natural, engaging, culturally relevant, and aligned with the brand's tone of voice and creative direction.
  • Partners closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors, strategists, and cross-functional teams to develop integrated creative ideas, ensuring copy and visual expression work cohesively across campaigns and touchpoints.
  • Takes ownership of the creative process by challenging briefs, identifying opportunities, and translating consumer insights and business challenges into fresh, relevant, and differentiated ideas that elevate client work.
  • Presents and sells creative concepts with confidence, clearly articulating the thinking behind ideas to clients and internal stakeholders, while responding constructively to feedback and refining work through multiple stages of development.
  • Contributes to and leads creative pitches and new business opportunities, developing strong creative territories, campaign narratives, and presentation materials that demonstrate a clear understanding of the client, audience, culture, and business challenge.
  • Raises the creative standard within the team by providing guidance and constructive feedback to junior and mid-level creatives, sharing knowledge, and encouraging stronger thinking, writing, craft, and execution across projects.
  • Stays curious and culturally connected, bringing new perspectives, emerging trends, consumer behaviours, and creative inspiration into the work to ensure ideas remain relevant, distinctive, and ahead of the curve.

A bit about you:

  • Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience as a Copywriter within an agency or creative environment, with a strong portfolio demonstrating integrated campaigns and high-quality creative work across multiple channels.
  • Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia is essential, with strong writing, editing, conceptual and storytelling skills, as well as a strong understanding of Malaysian language, culture, and audience nuances.
  • Strong ability to develop creative ideas and turn strategic briefs, consumer insights, and business challenges into distinctive concepts, compelling narratives, and impactful copy.
  • Confident communicator and presenter who can articulate creative thinking, influence stakeholders, respond to feedback, and effectively sell ideas to clients and internal teams.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors, strategists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated creative work.
  • Experience contributing to or leading creative pitches and new business presentations, with the ability to develop ideas from initial concept through to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior creatives, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive and collaborative creative culture.
  • Strong English language skills would be an added advantage, particularly for developing bilingual campaigns, collaborating with regional or international teams, and adapting creative concepts across markets.
  • Passionate about creativity, culture, brands, and storytelling, with a strong understanding of how great creative work can build brand affinity and drive business results.
