Role Description The Senior Buyer Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in WP Kuala Lumpur, responsible for leading end-to-end procurement activities to support Ocean Vantage's energy and oil and gas projects. This role oversees sourcing of materials, equipment, and services, negotiates contracts and pricing with suppliers, and ensures timely delivery aligned with project schedules and quality standards. The Senior Buyer Executive reviews technical and commercial requirements, prepares and evaluates quotations and tenders, and collaborates closely with project, engineering, and finance teams to optimize cost, quality, and risk. Daily responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, maintaining accurate procurement records, monitoring market trends and supply chain risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of procurement processes and may mentor junior team members in purchasing best practices.

Qualifications
- Strong procurement and purchasing capabilities, including experience with vendor sourcing, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics, with the ability to coordinate delivery schedules, monitor inventory levels, and support cost-effective material planning.
- Familiarity with energy and oil and gas industry requirements, such as technical specifications for equipment and services, safety standards, and relevant regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in using procurement and ERP systems, as well as standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets and databases) for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compare offers, assess total cost of ownership, and manage supplier performance metrics.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility, prioritize multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy in documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
