Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly skilled Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a residential addiction treatment facility. This senior role is pivotal in providing psychological assessment, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and clinical supervision. The successful candidate will serve as a leader within the multidisciplinary team, guiding clinical practice and promoting recovery and well-being among residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and deliver psychotherapy for individuals with substance and/or behavioural addictions and co-occurring mental health conditions in a residential setting
  • Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans, ensuring integration of evidence-based therapies tailored to client needs
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducation workshops, modelling best practices in recovery-focused interventions within a biopsychosocial framework
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to junior psychologists, counsellors, and recovery support staff
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, medical professionals, nurses, and recovery coaches to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary care
  • Lead case formulation discussions, contribute to treatment strategies, and monitor client progress in clinical meetings
  • Offer crisis intervention and clinical leadership during acute distress or substance-use related emergencies
  • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of therapeutic services
  • Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and ethical practice in line with legal and professional requirements
  • Stay abreast of advancements in addiction treatment, evidence-based interventions, and clinical psychology research, integrating new knowledge into practice and team development

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an accredited institution
  • Registered with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) (required)
  • Full membership with the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a clinical psychologist
  • Demonstrated expertise in addiction treatment and co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and mentoring skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and client-centred approach
  • Skilled in facilitating both individual and group therapy settings
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
  • Passion for advancing clinical excellence in addiction treatment

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM 6:00 PM) with hybrid work flexibility
