Senior Consultant Energy (Downstream)

About the Role

Join Accenture's Energy Industry practice and help leading organizations across the downstream energy sector transform their operations, supply chains, and business processes. In this client-facing consulting role, you will work with refining, petrochemical, fuels, and lubricants businesses to solve complex operational challenges, drive digital transformation initiatives, and deliver measurable business value.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Asia Pacific while contributing to both project delivery and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and lead consulting engagements across the downstream energy value chain, including refining, petrochemicals, fuels, and lubricants.

• Analyze business operations and document current-state processes, operating models, functional requirements, and business improvement opportunities.

• Develop recommendations and solutions related to supply chain optimization, maintenance, manufacturing operations, planning and scheduling, blending, packaging, and recipe management.

• Work closely with client stakeholders to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and support transformation initiatives.

• Contribute to the design and implementation of digital transformation programs, including data analytics and automation solutions.

• Support business development activities by identifying client needs, developing proposals, and assisting with opportunity qualification and solution positioning.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive project execution, manage deliverables, and ensure successful outcomes.

• Provide project status updates, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

• 3-8 years of experience in downstream energy, petrochemicals, lubricants, refining, or a related industry.

• Minimum 2 years of consulting experience or demonstrated experience leading business transformation initiatives.

• Strong understanding of downstream industry processes, including operations, maintenance, supply chain, planning and scheduling, blending, packaging, and distribution.

• Experience in business process improvement, operating model design, functional requirements development, or transformation program delivery.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.

• Experience in route-to-market transformation, customer value management, sales and marketing of refined or petrochemical products, or channel management.

• Exposure to digital transformation, operational excellence, or process optimization initiatives.

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, data analytics, artificial intelligence, automation technologies, or machine learning solutions.

• Experience working with multinational teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies.

• Prior experience supporting large-scale implementation or product development programs.

• This role requires travel based on client and project requirements across Asia Pacific, including Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and other locations.

• Travel requirements may range from approximately 25% to 75% of working time and may increase during critical project phases.
