about the job

  • Manage the full contract life cycle from pre-qualification and award through to final account close-out.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements, ensuring full alignment with corporate governance and legal standards.
  • Lead the preparation of robust tender packages, including conditions of contract and technical specifications.
  • Drive tender evaluations and contractor selection processes, providing expert commercial advice to ensure optimal value.
  • Monitor budgets, manage variation orders, and oversee the assessment of contractor progress claims for payment recommendations.
  • Evaluate and negotiate complex Extension of Time (EOT) claims and variations while implementing value engineering measures.
  • Lead negotiations for contractual disputes and claims, preparing detailed reports and liaising with legal counsel as required.
  • Act as the primary interface between the organisation and external contractors while providing contractual guidance to internal project and finance teams.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to local construction laws, building regulations, and insurance/bond requirements.
skills and requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of dual experience, demonstrating a robust track record in both professional consultancy and the property development sector.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal communication; highly proficient in MS Office and specialised contract management software.
  • In-depth expertise in industry-standard forms of contract, including FIDIC, PAM, JCT, or local equivalents.
