Location: TRX, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Onsite)

Industry: Manufacturing

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (Renewable)

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners or Up to 1 Month Preferred

Salary: RM5000 - RM6000

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to independently manage cost management activities for assigned projects or major work packages. The role will cover cost planning, estimating, forecasting, change management, commercial risk, contract administration, reporting, and project close-out.

• Prepare and review cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, and forecasts using project data, benchmarking, and market intelligence

• Lead value engineering and lifecycle costing activities

• Manage cost control reports, forecasts, cash flow, and financial reporting

• Manage project change control, change orders, commitments, invoices, forecasts, and cost impacts

• Review change orders, invoices, quotations, and supporting documentation for commercial and contractual accuracy

• Identify and manage commercial and cost risks across assigned projects

• Provide commercial input during pre-contract and post-contract activities

• Represent the cost management function in client, contractor, consultant, and design team meetings

• Assess and communicate cost impacts of design changes, scope developments, procurement decisions, and project risks

• Conduct measurement, pricing research, benchmarking, development appraisals, and commercial analysis

• Support commercial negotiations, contract administration, final accounts, and project close-out

• Review Junior Cost Manager deliverables and provide coaching and guidance

• Ensure consistent use of cost management templates, trackers, controls, and reporting processes

• Resolve routine commercial issues and escalate significant risks and decisions to project leadership

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Management, Engineering, Data Analytics with a construction/cost focus, or related discipline

• Minimum 5 years of relevant cost management experience

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

• Proven experience managing cost plans, forecasts, change control, invoice reviews, and commercial reporting

• Experience managing commercial risks and providing cost recommendations to project stakeholders

• Strong numerical, analytical, commercial, and documentation skills

• Strong understanding of project cost control and commercial processes

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project leadership

• Ability to supervise and review junior team members

• Ability to independently manage assigned projects or major work packages
