JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our Solar PV System Design & Engineering Department. You will take a lead role in shaping project outcomes with technically sound and innovative solar solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solar PV System Design & Engineering:
- Develop and review detailed solar PV designs (electrical schematics, SLDs, mechanical layouts, etc.) for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Perform technical assessments, shading analysis, and simulations using AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Helioscope.
- Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, SEDA Malaysia, and international best practices.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Guide and support junior design engineers and drafters to achieve design excellence.
- Provide design reviews, technical coaching, and knowledge sharing across the team.
Project Integration & Technical Support:
- Collaborate with project, sales, and installation teams to ensure feasibility and timely execution.
- Participate in technical meetings with clients and regulators.
- Support project implementation through accurate BOMs, drawings, and site coordination.
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance:
- Lead the preparation of submission packages for authority approvals.
- Maintain thorough documentation for all design works and revisions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with emerging solar technologies, codes, and design methodologies.
- Help improve departmental processes and tools to boost productivity and design quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Certification:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- GCPV/OGPV certification by SEDA is a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years in solar PV system design, with exposure to medium/large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in leading or mentoring junior engineers.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of low/medium voltage systems, protection devices, cable sizing, and grounding.
