Senior DevOps Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for a senior, hands-on DevOps engineer to lead our CI/CD and automation transformation initiatives.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with strong ownership across the engineering organization. You will be responsible for establishing scalable CI/CD foundations, improving development workflow efficiency, and strengthening build and release reliability across multiple teams.
You will operate with autonomy and executive support to define, implement, and drive adoption of automation standards that elevate engineering maturity.

Key Responsibilities
1. CI/CD Transformation Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of standardized CI/CD pipelines across engineering teams
- Define reusable pipeline architecture and templates
- Establish and enforce quality gates, branching governance, and release discipline
- Integrate automated testing and code quality tools into pipelines
- Improve build reproducibility and artifact management
2. Continuous Integration (Initial Priority)
- Establish strong CI foundations across repositories
- Improve build validation and early defect detection
- Enforce Git workflow standards and protected branching models
- Increase visibility into build health and code quality metrics
3. Continuous Delivery & Deployment Automation
- Implement structured deployment automation
- Improve rollback strategies and release traceability
- Reduce manual intervention in release processes
- Support controlled and reliable deployment workflows
4. Infrastructure & Cloud Automation
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to improve environment consistency
- Support cloud-based automation and deployment initiatives
- Improve environment parity across development lifecycle stages
5. Cross-Team Enablement
- Assess current maturity and define a practical CI/CD improvement roadmap
- Drive adoption of automation standards across development teams
- Provide technical leadership in automation best practices
- Partner with QA automation initiatives to integrate automated test frameworks
Requirements
Must-Have
- 6+ years of hands-on DevOps experience
- Proven track record of leading CI/CD transformation initiatives
- Experience implementing pipelines from low or fragmented maturity environments
- Strong experience with modern CI/CD platforms (Git-based CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)
- Experience enforcing Git workflow governance and merge discipline
- Hands-on containerization experience
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Strong scripting skills
Ability to operate independently and influence engineering teams
Nice-to-Have
- Experience integrating static code analysis and security scanning
- Experience improving deployment strategies (blue-green, canary)
- Experience in regulated or high-availability environments

Key Notes
- 6+ years of hands-on DevOps experience
- Strong experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins / Git-based CI)
- Proven track record leading CI/CD transformation initiatives
- Hands-on containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Ability to work independently and influence engineering teams
- Location: Malaysia (Malaysians preferred)
