This position is primarily a technical leadership role with additional responsibility for coordinating projects and driving execution.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Lead electrical engineering activities for product development and enhancements
- Work closely with Malaysia & Boston R&D Team on design, problem solving, and technical direction
- Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers in the region
- Support project execution, timelines, and cross-functional alignment
Technical Leadership
- Lead and contribute to electrical design activities, including analog and digital circuit design, system integration, and troubleshooting
- Provide technical direction for complex electromechanical systems
- Participate in design reviews and ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Support verification, validation, and root cause analysis for product issues
- Support new product development, design enhancements, and quality improvements
- Ensure designs are documented and released in accordance with design control and quality system requirements
- Drive engineering solutions from concept through production
- Work closely with regional suppliers, including PCB design and contract manufacturers
- Provide technical support to resolve supplier-related issues and improve product quality
- Ensure strong alignment between design requirements and manufacturing capabilities
- Support planning, scheduling, and tracking of engineering activities across multiple projects
- Collaborate with team members to meet milestones and deliverables
- Communicate project status, risks, and solutions across global teams
- Partner with Mechanical, Software, Quality & Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams
- Work effectively across global time zones, especially with Boston-based R&D
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Typically 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in medical devices or other high-reliability industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace)
- Strong experience in analog and digital design and troubleshooting
- Proven experience working on complex electromechanical systems
- Experience supporting products from concept through production
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC standards such as IEC 60601)
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers, especially PCB design and assembly
- Experience in manufacturing or operations environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical work.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
- Strong technical depth in electrical engineering
- Ability to balance hands-on engineering with project coordination responsibilities
- Clear and effective communication in English (written and verbal)
- Structured and disciplined approach to documentation and quality systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global organization
