- Lead the installation, configuration, and administration of enterprise-grade database management systems including SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies to meet business continuity objectives.
- Proactively monitor and optimize database performance, including index optimization, query tuning, and resource management.
- Architect and implement automated processes for database provisioning, backup, and maintenance using scripting and DevOps tools.
- Ensure database environments are secure, compliant, and aligned with IT governance and audit requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and engineers.
- Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders to design scalable, reliable data solutions.
- Manage and execute data migrations, version upgrades, and patch deployments with minimal downtime and risk.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, policies, and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and assess their applicability to business needs.
Job Requirement
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Proficiency in database scripting languages like SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven experience implementing and supporting high availability (HA), replication, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
- In-depth understanding of database security, auditing, role-based access control, and encryption.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
