Job Description

Nexperia is a world-class company in semiconductor development and in-house production. A proven global player with an entrepreneurial mentality. At our core is an 13,000+ strong international network with a singular focus. Built on passion and commitment to our work, belief in our goals and a drive to succeed regardless of the challenges we face. We support, reward and challenge individuals equally, in a dynamic and energetic environment.

About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Equipment Engineer (Singulation) to lead the maintenance, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of singulation equipment in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, yield improvement, and successful introduction of new technologies and package architectures into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).

What You Will Do

  • Lead the maintenance, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of singulation equipment across a wide range of semiconductor package types.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment downtime (DT) and drive mitigation strategies through MTBF/MTBA improvements, ensuring scheduled downtime activities are properly verified and signed off.
  • Partner with process engineering teams to support new product development, qualification, and HVM ramp-up.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create, maintain, and update technical documentation, including control plans, process specifications, SOPs, technical reports, and FMEAs.
  • Plan and manage technician headcount and coverage to support 24/7 manufacturing operations, ensuring effective task delegation and clear communication.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop technicians by strengthening technical competencies, setting KPIs, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Work closely with R&D, NPI, product design, and reliability teams to align singulation equipment capabilities with package architecture and process requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve singulation-related defects, including chipping, burrs, cracks, miscuts, and edge damage.
  • Support smooth technology, process, and equipment transfers into HVM, including ramp-up activities.
  • Contribute to process and equipment roadmaps for advanced packaging, thin form factors, and next-generation device architectures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Manufacturing Value Add (MVA) reduction, yield enhancement, and UPH optimization.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and lifecycle planning for singulation equipment.
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors for blade, jig, and fixture procurement, ensuring timely delivery of spare and non-spare items.
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of semiconductor industry experience, with at least 3 years focused on singulation processes and tooling.
  • Strong hands-on experience with singulation equipment such as mechanical saws, laser singulation systems, and blade-based dicing tools.
  • Experience with Disco singulation/dicing equipment is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and strong technical documentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of tooling design, material properties and behavior, GD&T, tolerances, and metrology systems (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
