Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the Finance & Accounts Division to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Manage timely preparation and submission of financial reports, including management accounts and consolidated reports
Supervise and review team members work to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to deadlines
Manage full cycle of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes
Perform and review reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and irregularities promptly
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Analyse financial data and highlight risks or issues to management
Prepare audit schedules and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes

Job Requirements

Strong understanding of Financial Accounting and Reporting concepts, including the ability to resolve related issues
Knowledge of financial accounting standards, including MPERS and MFRS (e.g., Presentation of Financial Statements, Cash Flow, Revenue, PPE, Inventories, Cash & Cash Equivalents)
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including; Companies Act 2016 (including amendments), Accountants Act 1967, Financial Reporting Act 1997
Understanding of MIA By-Laws on Professional Ethics, Conduct and Practice Basic knowledge of auditing standards (e.g., ISQM 1 and ISQM 2)
Knowledge of accounting software and financial systems
Awareness of the economic environment and its impact on financial reporting
