About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Executive, General Ledger (GL) to join our finance team. The Senior GL will support the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in the month-end close process. Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Manage and oversee the General Ledger to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparation, review, and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations (e.g. cash, bank, intercompany, accruals, prepayments) and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, documentation, and responses.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements, supporting filings and audits where applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data capture and alignment with business activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve GL processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency, including system enhancements and automation.
  • Provide guidance, review work, and support the development of junior finance team members.
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and business initiatives as required.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent qualification in Accounting/Finance, advanced certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, ICAEW) is advantageous.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in General Ledger or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (such as Oracle NetSuite) and advanced MS Excel skills is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, particularly during the month-end close.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with financial audits and tax regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automation tools or interest in process improvement is desirable.
