About the role
The Assistant Manager, Artwork Management will oversee artwork development, packaging material coordination, and regulatory compliance across multiple geographical regions and SKUs. This role ensures timely execution of packaging designs while maintaining compliance with global regulatory requirements, product timelines and overall corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities: -
Artwork Development & Management:
- Manage the entire artwork lifecycle, from design conceptualization and product approval to commercialization and eventual phase-out, ensuring aligning with company branding strategy and country-specific requirements
- Coordinate artwork development, revision, and approval for pharmaceutical packaging across multiple regions
- Ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements for country-specific pharmaceutical regulations, including serialization, barcoding, and anti-counterfeiting measures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management and Marketing) and external vendors (design agencies, printers) to ensure timely execution of artwork changes.
- Manage brand naming activities and approval process for new brand names and coordinate with legal for Trademark registration
- Adapting and revising artwork designs to maintain brand identity and marketing alignment according to local regulatory requirements
- Ensure packaging materials meet both aesthetic and functional standards for global distribution
- Manage document control for packaging approvals, artwork versioning, and change control processes
- Stay updated on regulatory changes related to pharmaceutical packaging and artwork
- Prepare internal documents, e.g., trade dress, specifications, etc., for internal records
Packaging Coordination & Execution:
- Manage packaging material specifications, ensuring consistency across different SKUs and regions
- Work closely with suppliers and production teams to optimize packaging solutions in line with cost, quality, and sustainability objectives
- Track and monitor packaging material readiness to support production schedules
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, QA/QC, Production, Marketing & Portfolio) and vendors in finalizing the artwork and packaging for product registration, launch, tender participation, advertising & promotional activities
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management:
- Implement best practices for artwork and packaging development to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
- Lead initiatives for digital artwork management solutions and automation in packaging workflows
- Act as a key point of contact between internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on artwork timelines and requirements
- Keeping a track record of products/artworks for change part layouts, specifications, artwork approvals, etc.
- Trouble-shooting of various market feedback/complaints
Any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the management
About you
- Must possess a Diploma or Degree in Arts/Design/Creative Multimedia or Material Science/Industrial Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-6 years related experience preferably in Pharma, FMCG, Healthcare industries
- Understanding of global regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical packaging, including USFDA, EMA, MHRA, and other regional authorities is a plus
- Hands-on experience in artwork lifecycle management systems and packaging artwork approval processes
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple SKUs and regional requirements simultaneously
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience navigating diverse stakeholder groups.
- Versatile and resilient, ability to stay positive in high-pressure and ambiguous environments and work towards delivering results
