Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Merchandising

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise Assortment Planning

• Manage category product mix, support buying and pricing aligned with trends and targets.
• Coordinate with suppliers for stock and delivery.
• Align campaigns and promotions with brand team, and handle backend retail system tasks as needed.

Product Development

• Skilled in trend analysis, assortment planning, and end-to-end product lifecycle management—from concept and sampling to launch.
• Experienced in creating exclusive merchandise, collaborating with vendors, and aligning product strategies with commercial goals.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Ensure proper inventory control and stock rotation.
• Track and manage stock levels to avoid out-of-stock situations or overstock.
• Collaborate with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth stock flow.

Visual Merchandising

• Work with in-house Visual Merchandiser and/or Designer to ensure in-store display signages are rolled out in a timely manner according to brand guidelines and promotion period.
• Assist in store display when required to drive retail sales.

Sales & Performance Analysis

• Monitor and analyze sales trends to recommend adjustments to product assortments.
• Prepare sales reports and provide insights for decision-making on product placement and promotion strategies.

External Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and consignment vendors.
• Assist in negotiations, manage orders, and address any issues related to product deliveries or quality.

Cross Department Collaboration

• Work closely with Brand, Education, Retail Operations, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of merchandising plans in stores.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Others

• Any other task assigned by the Merchandising Manager.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant merchandising experience in Retail Merchandising.
• Strong negotiation skills with vendor and supplier management experience.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret market trends and consumer insights.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Creative, self-motivated, and proactive in identifying opportunities and solving problems.
• Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Highly adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Team player mentality and effective at building cross functional relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
