About the Role
This role is responsible for supporting end-to-end finance and accounting operations, including month-end and year-end closing, management and statutory reporting, financial reconciliation, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records. The incumbent will also be involved in commercial finance by providing financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and business insights to support better commercial decisions.
Key responsibilities:
1. OTC, Revenue Accounting & Month-End Closing & Account Receivable
- Independently manage day-to-day Order-to-Cash (OTC) activities relating to sales and customer transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, posting and issuance of sales invoices and e-Invoices in SAP.
- Perform customer account and sales-related reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform monthly and year-end closing activities relating to sales and revenue.
- Prepare and post relevant accruals and reversals and perform reconciliation between sales, COGS and inventory movements.
- Coordinate with Commercial, Customer Service, Supply Chain and other relevant stakeholders to resolve billing, invoicing and sales-related issues.
- Support internal and external audit requirements relating to sales, revenue and Accounts Receivable.
- Manage and monitor Accounts Receivable for the Malaysia entities.
- Monitor customer aging and actively follow up on overdue balances to support timely cash collection.
- Work closely with Commercial and relevant stakeholders to resolve customer billing, payment and account issues.
- Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and identify opportunities to improve working capital and cash flow.
- Provide regular updates on AR status, collection risks and significant outstanding items to the Finance Manager.
2. Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Support the Finance Manager in providing financial analysis and insights to Commercial, Marketing, Business Development and other business functions.
- Prepare and analyze sales performance, profitability and actual vs. budget variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze Gross-to-Net (G2N/GTN), including promo margin, bonus goods, trade rebates, returns and other sales deductions.
- Prepare and analyze Marketing, Selling and Promotional (MSP) report.
- Perform Price-Volume-Mix analysis and support pricing and revenue management initiatives.
- Support the evaluation of the financial impact of commercial initiatives, pricing decisions, customer terms and business opportunities.
- Monitor key business trends, risks and opportunities and highlight significant findings to the Finance Manager and relevant stakeholders.
3. Management Reporting, Budget & Business Planning
- Prepare timely, accurate and consistent weekly and monthly commercial and management reports.
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of the annual budget, forecast and 5-Year Business Plan.
4. Finance Process Improvement & Automation
- Support the Finance Manager in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and decision-making.
- Support SAP optimization, automation and Finance transformation initiatives.
- Work with IT and relevant stakeholders to implement system enhancements and automation projects within agreed timelines.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Finance, Management Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Order-to-Cash, Revenue Accounting or a combination of these areas.
- Hands-on experience in sales invoicing, e-Invoicing and ERP/SAP is preferred.
- Experience in commercial finance, management reporting, budgeting and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful business insights.
- Experience in Gross to Net (G2N), pricing, rebates, or Price-Volume-Mix analysis will be an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI, SAP or other financial reporting/automation tools is an advantage.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive, independent and solution-oriented, with the ability to work across both operational finance and commercial finance activities.
