About the Role

At Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE), we are committed to cultivating a workplace rooted in mutual respect, compliance, and industrial harmony. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Executive, Industrial Relations to oversee matters related to employee conduct, disciplinary processes, union engagement, and collective agreement management.

In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive, productive, and legally compliant work environment balancing organizational interests with employee rights.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations & Discipline

  • Manage disciplinary cases in accordance with company policies and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Independently lead and coordinate Domestic Inquiries (DI), including session facilitation and reporting.

Notice of Demand (NOD)

  • Handle NOD cases with accurate documentation, ensuring readiness for potential legal escalation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly NOD status reports promptly.

Union & Collective Agreement Management

  • Support union meetings and follow-ups to strengthen constructive relationships.
  • Assist in the renewal of Collective Agreements (CA)—including data analysis, negotiation arrangements, minute-taking, documentation preparation, and court submissions.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain an up to date Bad Apple List of employees with disciplinary records in accordance with procedures.
  • Promote and adhere to workplaceHealth, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or Law (LL.B Hons)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Relations or Employee Relations
  • Strong background in managing unions and conducting Domestic Inquiries

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of Malaysian labour laws
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong data management and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions
