Position Responsibilities:
To support the development of new merchandise and product designs, and to strengthen coordination with suppliers in China to ensure timely execution, accurate design output, and smooth production process.
As a Product Innovation & Development Senior Executive in the Lifestyle division, you will play a key role in shaping and bringing thoughtfully designed lifestyle products to market. We are looking for a design-forward individual who combines strong aesthetic sensibility with commercial awareness. This role requires hands-on involvement in the design process, from concept development and visual exploration to sample reviewing and production, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Support Product Development
- Assist the Product Innovation & Development Manager in overseeing the product innovation and development process for the lifestyle merchandising division.
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth competitor analysis and market research to identify emerging trends, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarks. Leverage these insights to develop product concepts with clear unique selling points.
Design & Conceptualization
- Develop compelling product concepts through mood boards, sketching, CMF (colour, material, finish) exploration, and basic visual mockups. Ensure designs align with brand identity, functionality, and manufacturability. Liaise closely with in-house designers to refine and finalise designs for production.
Sample Review & Production Support
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to review samples, refine design details, and ensure final products meet design intent, quality standards, and timeline requirements.
Product Proposal Deck Presentation
- Prepare clear and visually engaging proposal decks to communicate product concepts, design rationale, and key features to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be able to read and write Chinese to communicate with vendors in China.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other industrial/product design software.
- Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design / Product Design / Graphic Design or related field.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing process and materials is an advantage.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in industrial design / product design / packaging design.
- Experience working with manufacturers or suppliers is preferred.
- Experience in designing commercial products for retail / FMCG / merchandise is an advantage.
- Experience preparing technical drawings and specifications for production.
- Strong product design and visualisation skills.
- Ability to create 2D drawings and 3D mockups.
- Knowledge of materials, finishing, and production methods.
- Ability to communicate with suppliers and follow up on product development.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Understanding of packaging, merchandising, or consumer products is a plus.
