Job Description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement & Partnerships and working closely with the Head, Corporate Services, the Senior Executive, Volunteer & Partnership Development is responsible for driving key areas of KKCS's volunteer management and partnerships work, with a strong focus on volunteer development, community engagement, and partnership growth.

As part of a small Community Engagement & Partnerships team, this role takes ownership of volunteer and partnership domains, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that strengthen KKCS's community ecosystem. It focuses on building structured, sustainable, and meaningful volunteer and partner experiences that support service delivery and organisational priorities.

The role combines strategy, relationship management, and operational leadership, and serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders. It also provides cross-functional support within the CEP team, including coverage for peer workstreams where required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Volunteer Development & Coordination

1.1. Develop and implement volunteer engagement strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, deployment, retention and recognition.

1.2. Partner service units to design meaningful volunteer roles and improve integration of volunteers into programmes and services.

1.3. Drive volunteer engagement initiatives and experiences that strengthen connection to KKCS's mission and impact.

2. Partnership Engagement

2.1. Identify, develop and manage partnerships with community groups, corporates and other stakeholders to support KKCS programmes and initiatives.

2.2. Drive partnership engagement strategies that create sustained and mutually beneficial relationships.

3. Systems & Process Support

3.1. Contribute to the development and implementation of volunteer and partnership frameworks, policies and tools to support organisational needs.

3.2. Support training and capability-building efforts for staff involved in volunteer and partnership management.

3.3. Ensure proper documentation, compliance, and risk management practices.

3.4. Contribute to improving systems that support volunteer and partner engagement.

4. Data, Reporting & Improvement

4.1. Maintain accurate volunteer and partnership data and reporting.

4.2. Analyse data and feedback to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement.

4.3. Support evaluation of volunteer contributions and partnership outcomes to inform strategy.

5. Collaboration & Support

5.1. Work closely with Communications & Resource Development to align volunteer and partnership efforts with outreach, engagement and fundraising initiatives.

5.2. Contribute to broader CEP strategies and cross-functional projects.

5.3. Provide coverage and support across CEP workstreams, including peer portfolios where required.

5.4. Support organisational events, appreciation initiatives, and engagement activities.

5.5. Provide secretarial support to select committees from time to time.

6. Other Duties

6.1. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and the leadership team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

1. Degree in social sciences, community development, business, communications, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in volunteer management, community engagement, partnership development or stakeholder engagement.

3. Hands-on experience managing the volunteer lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, deployment, engagement, retention and recognition.

4. Experience in social service, public sector, or mission-driven organisations preferred.

Capabilities

1. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers, community partners, corporate representatives and internal teams.

2. Able to independently manage assigned portfolios while collaborating effectively within a small, cross-functional team.

3. Strong planning, project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, events and timelines.

4. Good written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Proficient in Canva to create simple volunteer recruitment, engagement and event materials, and comfortable using digital systems for record-keeping and reporting.

5. Organised, resourceful and adaptable, with sound judgement, a hands-on approach and commitment to KKCS's mission and values.

6. Confident in meeting new people and representing KKCS when engaging volunteers, partners and other stakeholders.

7. Willing to attend community outreach activities, partnership meetings and organisational events when required.
