Job Responsibilities
- Handle full spectrum of accounting and finance functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Review supplier invoices, staff claims, payment documents, and ensure completeness of supporting documents in compliance with internal control procedures.
- Record and monitor project-related costs, ensuring accurate allocation and timely updating of financial information.
- Prepare monthly management reports and schedules for management review.
- Perform project profitability analysis, including monitoring project revenue, costs, margins, and overall Project Profit & Loss (P&L) performance.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis for ongoing projects and operational activities.
- Liaise with project teams and internal departments to obtain financial information and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretary, and regulatory authorities on finance and accounting matters.
- Maintain proper accounting records, documentation, and filing systems in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia requirements, taxation regulations, and internal control policies.
- Support finance-related projects, process improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc assignments as required by management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Experience in property development, construction, or project-based industries is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of full-set accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
- Exposure to project accounting, project cost monitoring, and project profitability analysis will be advantageous.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders across different levels.
- Mandarin proficiency is preferred to facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
