Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Finance Manager, Regional FP&A drives strategic business decisions through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role is responsible for overseeing Asia region Budget and Planning, regional reporting and standardisation, all aspects of royalty calculations, payments, and reporting for authors, licensors, and other stakeholders. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of royalty-related financial data while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations. The Royalty Reporting Manager will play a key role in streamlining processes, analysing data, and supporting decision-making to enhance operational efficiency in a publishing and retailing environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Budgeting and Forecasting: Preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and scenario analyses to anticipate financial outcomes.
  2. Financial Analysis: Evaluating income, expenses, capital expenditures, and investments to measure performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  3. Management Reporting: Producing reports and dashboards that provide insights into KPIs, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  4. Business Partnering: Collaborating with stakeholders across departments to align financial planning with business objectives.
  5. Regional Reporting: Generate regular reports on financial performance and royalty compliance for management and key stakeholders. Develop and maintain dashboards and performance metrics for both financial and royalty-related indicators.
  6. Royalties Compliance: Ensure compliance with royalty agreements and contractual obligations, including accurate calculation and timely recording of royalties. Review royalty accruals and true ups to maintain accuracy and fairness.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Right cultural mindset to streamline and to enhance FP&A processes through small, incremental changes that build long-term performance and efficiency.
  8. Project Involvement: Lead or support internal projects aimed at enhancing business intelligence tools and systems. Contribute to the implementation of royalty system rollouts and respond to top-down royalty reporting initiatives.
  9. Training & Development: Provide training and guidance to team members on financial analysis and royalty compliance practices. Promote knowledge sharing to enhance team capabilities in managing financial and royalty-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business analytics or a related field.

  • 8-10 years of experience. Manage a team of analysts, coordinate planning and forecasting processes, drive strategic initiatives and serve as a business partner to operational leaders, and advise business partner on local business decisions.

Business Competencies:

  1. Technical Expertise: Experience working with ERP systems and financial planning tools (Oracle NetSuite, PBCS, Workday Adaptive Planning or similar) is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot, Pivot Chart etc)
  2. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse large datasets and identify discrepancies. Capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Team-oriented with the ability to work across functions and manage multiple priorities.
  4. Process Improvement: Experience in streamlining royalty workflows and implementing system enhancements.
