Role Overview
The Senior Finance Manager will own the end-to-end financial management of Ancileo's Singapore and Malaysia entities. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical accounting rigour with commercial acumen. You will be the financial backbone of both entities managing compliance, cash flow, and reporting while serving as a thought partner to the CEO on financial strategy and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Own month-end and year-end close processes for both SG and MY entities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards for CEO and board review
- Manage consolidation of multi-entity financials, including intercompany eliminations
- Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with SFRS (Singapore) and MFRS (Malaysia)
- Manage the annual audit process and relationship with external auditors
- Coordinate audit readiness: ensure all schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation are prepared ahead of fieldwork
2. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate GST/SST filing for Singapore and Malaysia
- Manage corporate income tax filing and transfer pricing documentation across both entities
- Liaise with ACRA (Singapore) and SSM (Malaysia) for statutory submissions and secretarial matters
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with local financial regulations
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with the CEO and department heads
- Maintain rolling forecasts and scenario models to support strategic decision-making
- Build financial models for new market entries, partnerships, and product line expansions
- Track GWP targets, revenue recognition, and commission structures across insurer partnerships
4. Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage cash flow planning and liquidity monitoring for both entities
- Directly manage the Finance, Administration & HR Executive, providing day-to-day oversight, performance guidance, and workload prioritisation
- Set clear KPIs for the Finance, Administration & HR Executive covering invoice processing turnaround, collections aging, and payment accuracy
- Review and approve AP/AR reconciliations, escalating unresolved items and enforcing credit control policies
- Identify process gaps and coach the AP/AR Executive on continuous improvement in billing and collections workflows
- Maintain and optimize banking relationships in Singapore and Malaysia
- Support foreign exchange exposure management across SGD, MYR, and USD transactions
5. Investor Relations & Board Support
- Prepare financial reporting packages for the board and strategic investor (MSIG Asia)
- Support fundraising processes including data room preparation, financial due diligence, and investor Q&A
- Maintain cap table accuracy and coordinate with legal on equity management
- Track financial covenants and reporting obligations under investment agreements
6. Financial Systems & Process Improvement
- Own and optimise the accounting system (Xero) across both entities
- Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual workload and reporting latency
- Build internal financial controls and policies appropriate for a scaling Series A company
7. Payroll & HR Finance
- Oversee payroll processing for SG and MY employees, including CPF (SG) and EPF/SOCSO (MY) contributions
- Manage Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements for remote-based hires (e.g. Thailand)
- Coordinate with HR on headcount planning, compensation benchmarking, and offer financial modelling
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 710 years of finance/accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or managerial capacity
- Strong technical knowledge of Singapore financial reporting standards (SFRS) and GST
- Hands-on experience managing Malaysian entity finance and SST compliance
- Proficiency with Xero
- Demonstrated ability to work in a lean team and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in a startup, InsurTech, FinTech, or technology company
- Exposure to insurance premium accounting, commission structures, or GWP reporting
- Familiarity with Series A investor reporting and board-level financial communication
- Experience setting up or managing a new legal entity from a finance perspective
