About the role
Reporting to the GM Global Quality or GM Regulatory Response and Services, the Senior FSQ and Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for leading regulatory compliance and food safety and quality (FSQ) assurance for products and operations in Southeast Asia/Indian subcontinent. Reporting to the GM Global Quality or GM Regulatory Response and Services, this role provides FSQ and Regulatory affairs leadership across markets covering market access, regulatory compliance, incident management, product traceability, regulatory authority and customer engagement, and oversight of third-party and in-market food safety systems, standards and processes across Southeast Asia.
Key Accountabilities
* Set and Lead Regional FSQ & Regulatory Strategy: Define and drive the execution of the regional food safety, quality, and regulatory affairs strategy, ensuring alignment with global objectives and local market needs.
* Champion Regulatory Compliance & Market Access: Oversee compliance with all relevant food regulations. Ensure compliance with Halal and other religious requirements, and proactively manage market access and regulatory submissions across Southeast Asia. Lead halal certification processes and maintain strong relationships with relevant authorities. Lead engagement with customs authorities to proactively resolve clearance issues, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods across Southeast Asia markets.
* Govern Food Safety & Quality Systems: Ensure robust FSQ systems and standards are implemented and maintained, overseeing risk assessments, incident management, product traceability, and recall processes. Oversee third-party manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and laboratory operations to ensure compliance and quality standards are met throughout the supply chain. Ensure integrity and accuracy of documentation and reporting.
* Stakeholder Engagement and Governance: Provide expert guidance to commercial and operational teams, lead regulatory and FSQ engagement with government agencies and customers, and represent the organisation in industry forums.
* Advance Regulatory Advocacy and Emerging Market Support: Shape regulatory advocacy efforts, engage with local and regulatory bodies, and provide strategic support for customer engagement and emerging market initiatives.
* Build and Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, mentor, and develop the in-market FSQ and Regulatory team, fostering a culture of accountability, capability growth, and succession planning.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Technology, Law, or a related discipline.
* 10+ years of experience in regulatory affairs and/or food safety and quality roles, preferably in FMCG or dairy.
* Strong knowledge of ASEAN market food regulations and international FSQ standards (e.g. Codex, HACCP, ISO).
* Demonstrated experience in product registration and market access processes, quota allocation management, regulatory compliance including Halal and other religious requirements, incident management, product traceability, regulatory authority and customer engagement, and oversight of third-party and in-market food safety systems, standards and processes.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
