JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

What You'll Do:

Software Development & Solution Design

• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Define solution designs and system architectures for customer-facing and backend applications.

• Develop systems with scalability, flexibility, and maintainability in mind.

• Collaborate with development teams and product managers to ideate and deliver software solutions.

• Improve software quality through Agile engineering practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.

• Prepare and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, API documentation, operational guides, and other engineering documents.

• Troubleshoot defects, enhance existing software, and provide ongoing application support.

• Manage operational applications and databases to ensure system stability and performance.

• Write and maintain effective APIs and technical documentation.

• Provide support during SIT and UAT, investigating and resolving technical issues.

• Conduct system performance management, application vulnerability management, and software release management.

• Plan and execute production system implementations.

Cloud Engineering and System Integration

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise cloud-based solutions using AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, Cognito, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, VPC, Route 53, and CloudWatch.

• Implement serverless applications using Node.js and AWS Lambda, following best practices for scalability, performance, resilience, and cost optimisation.

• Design and implement event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, messaging solutions, and integrations with internal and external platforms.

• Develop secure integrations with third-party services, payment gateways, notification platforms, analytics systems, and enterprise applications.

• Apply cloud architecture principles to improve system availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, observability, and operational efficiency.

• Evaluate and optimise application and infrastructure costs without compromising performance or reliability.

Technical Leadership and Engineering Excellence

• Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex production incidents, resolving performance bottlenecks, and conducting root cause analysis.

• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering design decisions.

• Guide developers on coding standards, application architecture, testing strategies, security practices, and engineering best practices.

• Mentor team members, encourage knowledge sharing, and support the continuous development of technical capabilities across the team.

• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Project Managers, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

• Conduct technology benchmarking and industry analysis to recommend suitable technologies and align with the organisation's technical strategy.

• Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and cost-effective technical solutions.

• Conceptualise, articulate, and advocate the value of technology in solving real business problems.

• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders on critical issues to ensure optimal business outcomes.

• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, engineering standards, automation, and delivery practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of software development experience within Agile teams.
• Strong expertise in developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js.
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in API and microservices development.
• Strong hands-on experience in frontend development usingReact.js and Next.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices.
• Experience with UI frameworks and styling libraries such asBootstrap, Tailwind CSS, and Material UI.
• Strong experience in designing and developing responsive, reusable, and scalable web applications.
• Strong experience designing and developing enterprise cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, Cognito, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, VPC, EBS, Route 53, and CloudWatch.
• Proven experience designing and developing web, API, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures using services such as SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
• Proficient in relational databases, particularlyMySQL, including database schema design, SQL queries, indexing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or equivalent.
• Understanding and experience in developing solutions using application-layer protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, and WebSockets.
• Ability to write automated unit and integration test cases using testing frameworks and mocking libraries.
• Proficient in source code management tools such as Git.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven architectures, stream processing, and real-time analytics integration.
• Strong appreciation of non-functional requirements (NFRs), including scalability, extensibility, reliability, security, and performance.
• Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Experience implementing CI/CD processes in AWS environments is an advantage.
• Familiarity with modern API design standards, including OpenAPI Specification, is an advantage.
• Experience with Docker and container-based deployments is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and execute projects while delivering quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Kiro, or equivalent solutions to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, and documentation.
