Senior Full Stack Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

Role:

• Join the Product Engineering team to help modernize the Open Banking platform.
• You'll work on customer-facing and internal platforms that power secure financial data sharing, enabling lenders and fintechs to make faster, smarter decisions.
• This is a hands-on engineering role best suited for developers who enjoy solving backend problems, modernizing legacy applications, improving application security, and building scalable services using PHP/Laravel, MySQL, AWS, and React.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable PHP/Laravel applications.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Modernize legacy applications while improving maintainability and security.
• Optimize MySQL databases and application performance.
• Build secure applications following OWASP and secure coding best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Work closely with product owners, QA, platform engineers, and security teams.
• Support production issues and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Use approved AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) responsibly to improve engineering productivity.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of commercial PHP development experience.
• Recent hands-on Laravel development.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and relational database design.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate with distributed teams.
