Job Description

Morgan Philips Executive is exclusively partnered with a Malaysian public listed construction leader in their search for a Senior GM to oversee their new projects and expansion plans.

You will oversee a team of 50 headcounts, whilst delivering:

  • Holistic Project Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of large-scale landed property developments, overseeing everything from master planning and infrastructure development to individual home construction.
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement the overarching strategy for our residential projects, including land-use planning, design integration, and phased development to meet market demand.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day construction operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Financial Stewardship: Take full P&L responsibility, meticulously managing budgets, forecasts, and project costs to ensure profitability and long-term financial health.
  • Team & Subcontractor Management: Build and lead a top-tier team of project managers and site supervisors. Cultivate strong relationships with a network of reliable subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality work.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Expertise: Navigate and ensure compliance with all local, state, and national building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards specific to residential development.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key liaison with engineers, architects, local authorities, and community representatives, ensuring all projects are aligned with community needs and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or General Manager role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-million dollar commercial or mixed-use projects from start to finish (ideally a track record of 1000 units a year).
  • Strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of construction finance, including budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire a team and build trust with clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, project management software, and building codes.
  • Bachelor&aposs degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master&aposs degree is a plus.
