On a look out for a Senior Graphic Designer who is a strong conceptual thinker and a confident hands-on maker. Your primary focus will be supporting content creation and creative strategy for clients — but your remit extends to shaping the visual identity of new OpenMinds ventures as they are incubated and launched.
Job Description
- Creative Direction & Conceptualisation You are the creative engine — translating briefs into visual concepts that are both strategically sound and aesthetically sharp. For client work, this means understanding audience and platform. For OpenMinds ventures, this means building a visual language from the ground up.
- Design Execution, AI Integration & Quality Assurance You produce high-quality work across the full range of digital formats — and you use AI tools as a genuine part of your production workflow, not an afterthought.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership As the senior voice on the design team, you raise the standard — not just through your own output, but through how you lead others.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Creative Pitching Design at OpenMinds doesn't happen in isolation. You work closely with content, strategy, and account teams — and you are comfortable presenting your thinking in a room.
Day-to-day Duties
- Develop creative concepts across client campaigns, content series, and internal pitches
- Lead visual identity development for new OpenMinds ventures — logomark, colour, typography, tone
- Build brand guidelines that non-designers on venture teams can actually follow and apply
- Storyboard campaign ideas quickly, using AI to generate visual references and explore directions at speed
- Execute design assets across social media, digital advertising, websites, presentations, and campaign collateral
- Use AI generation tools to accelerate concepting, storyboarding, and asset creation
- Prompt-direct AI outputs to produce brand-consistent visuals — not generic generations that need to be redone
- Know when AI accelerates your work and when it shortcuts your thinking; make the right call
- Act as Brand Guardian — the final gatekeeper ensuring all deliverables adhere strictly to client or internal brand guidelines
- Lead and mentor junior designers with direction, not just corrections
- Review and refine team output with specific, actionable feedback
- Build and maintain a shared AI prompt library — documenting effective text-to-image prompts and workflows for the wider team
- Organise and manage the creative asset library so the team works from a clean, consistent foundation
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and strategy teams to deliver integrated creative solutions
- Present and walk clients or internal teams through creative rationale with confidence
- Participate in strategy sessions and pitch visual concepts, providing feasibility assessments for upcoming campaigns
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously without dropping quality on any of them
Successful Candidates Shall Possess
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a digital agency environment
- A portfolio showing range across industries, formats, and creative territories
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Familiarity with Figma, Capcut, Canva or similar design tools
- Active, hands-on use of AI generation tools in your current workflow
- Ability to direct AI outputs toward brand-specific outcomes, not just generate and hop
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable presenting and defending creative decisions to clients and stakeholders
Strong Advantage
- Experience building a brand identity from scratch for a startup, product, or new venture
- Figma for collaborative design and creative handoff
- Motion graphics or short-form video editing
- UI/UX sensibility — understanding how visual identity carries into product and interface
- Experience articulating brand rationale to non-design stakeholders
